WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT AND WHY WE NEED HIM?
2 Corinthians 3:17 “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
EXPOSITION
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the trinity, and is equal with the Father and the Son as God. In 2 Corinthians 3:17, Apostle Paul declares the perfect equality of the Holy Spirit to God the Father and God the Son when he said, “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” Also, in Acts 5:3-4, Peter affirms this equality when he said that Satan had filled Ananias’s heart to “lie to the Holy Spirit” (verse 3) and concluded by saying that Ananias had “lied to God” (verse 4). The Spirit of God was present at and involved in the creation (Genesis 1:2; Psalm 33:6). We need him dearly because he is our strength and power (Acts 1:8). We are only able to destroy every wicked work of the devil by the strength received from the Holy Spirit. Without the Spirit, we are powerless and losers in all spiritual battles. We need him dearly because he is our life. “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you” (Romans 8:11). He is the one that resurrects our dead bodies and makes us useful again. Without him we are dead and useless, having no godly eyes to see; godly ears to hear; godly mind to reason; godly heart to love and to do good, etc. We need him dearly because he is our seal. Ephesians 4:30 tells us not to grieve the Holy Spirit with whom we were sealed for the day of redemption. Thus, when the trumpet sounds, it is the Holy Spirit who will redeem our bodies from the power of the grave at the resurrection day. Beloved, we cannot make it in this life and the life to come without the Holy Spirit. Let’s be filled by his enormous power. Stay blessed.

The Bible
We believe in the divine inspiration and authority of the Holy Scriptures. That the Bible is infallible in its declaration, final in its authority, comprehensive and all-sufficient in its provisions. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
Vision 2023
“In the coming years, The Church of Pentecost will strive to become a Church whose members go to possess or take their nations by influencing every worldview, thought and behavior with Kingdom principles, values and lifestyles, thereby, turning many people to Christ.” – Apostle Eric Nyamekye (Chairman, The Church of Pentecost)
